SemRush Review

Introduction to SEO

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through organic search engine results.

All major search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo have primary search results, where web pages and other content such as videos or local listings are shown and ranked based on what the search engine considers most relevant to users. Payment isn’t involved, as it is with paid search ads.

Here’s how it works: Google (or any search engine you’re using) has a crawler that goes out and gathers information about all the content they can find on the Internet. The crawlers bring all those 1s and 0s back to the search engine to build an index. That index is then fed through an algorithm that tries to match all that data with your query.

Introduction to SemRush

SemRush is one-stop solution for all the marketing needs of an affiliate. SEMrush is an online visibility management and content marketing SaaS platform ensuring businesses get measurable results from online marketing. Trusted by over 3,000,000 marketing professionals, SEMrush offers solutions for companies in any industry to build, manage, and measure campaigns across all marketing channels. With 30 tools for search, content, social media and market research, data for more than 140 countries, SEMrush is now a must-have solution for all companies serious about making an online presence.

If you’re just learning SEO, then SEMRush is best described as an all-in-one SEO tool that helps you analyze metrics like keyword rankings, backlinks, competing websites, gaps in your content, and so much more.

The best part is, you can run this kind of analysis on your own website as well as your competitors – which is where the tool really shines. Imagine being able to see exactly what’s bringing your competition the most organic traffic and then building out content to compete with them. That’s what SEMRush does best.

Why should one use SemRush

As bloggers, we work day and night to write posts hoping to increase the amount of traffic coming into our blog. But we often don’t focus enough on how we’re generating that traffic. If you check your analytics, you will realize that only a couple of your blog posts are contributing all of the traffic to your blog.

But when using the SEMrush SEO tool, you can find keywords which are driving traffic to your competitor’s website and you can write quality content based around those keywords. This will help you get a better position for certain target keywords in your niche.

Features

Search Engine Optimization

SEO is a very wide field. No doubt about it. So, I was curious about SEMrush’s approach here. First off, it provides an organic search function. This is essentially where you go to mine for the best possible keywords in your industry- those specific terms your target market is searching for.

To help you make informed decisions, each individual keyword is further assessed to reveal its corresponding competitive density, CPC, search volume, traffic, and trend. Most importantly, you get to view other domains that have been capitalizing on the same keywords. Subsequent analysis of their respective weaknesses and strengths should help you plan your counter strategy accordingly.

And speaking of planning, I found the Keyword Magic Tool to be quite handy at that. In addition to establishing the most popular search questions bearing a specific keyword, it points out SERP elements affected by the keywords, analyzes the keyword’s average difficulty, plus helps organize keywords into groups based on subject.

Paid Advertisement Analysis

To effectively capitalize on those ready buyers, you need some level of finesse. And that’s what SEMrush seeks to achieve with its paid ad functionalities. For starters, you get an ad builder to help you draft catchy advertisements for your products. It combines a dynamic keyword insertion feature and advanced editing tools to create relevant ads.

And to save you time, it scouts around for the most effective rival ads, lifts them as templates, and ultimately allows you to tweak them for your ads. The whole process is considerably simple and straightforward, I’ve got to admit. Thanks to a clean interface loaded with multiple options, plus a preview feature that comes in handy before publishing.

Content Marketing

When it comes to content marketing, SEMrush begins with the subject. Its Topic Research feature helps you identify issues your target market is most interested in.

If you suggest a topic, for instance, the system automatically generates relevant info on the subject- including captivating headings to attract readers. And to further refine everything, you can also research on the specific questions your prospects are asking on the topic.

Through this feature, you’ll be able to identify distribution opportunities based on keyword and brand mentions on various channels. And if you have any doubts about a specific channel, SEMrush also goes ahead to display scores for reviewing its trustworthiness. You might also need a partner to boost your promotion strategy. SEMrush takes a clever approach here by researching and establishing potential backlinking partners, who are already linking to your rivals.

Social Media Marketing

The principal tool here is the Social Media Tracker, which is basically used to inform social media marketing strategies. It spies on your competitors to help you identify what they are up to, the type of content they are using to target prospects, their posting frequencies, and the corresponding best practices.

First off, it unifies all social media channels, allowing you to post simultaneously from a single platform. SEMrush provides a scheduling feature to organize upcoming posts. You can also introduce several interesting pieces from third-party sources via RSS feed. And finally, to complete the marketing process, SEMrush employs analytics to track the progress of your social media marketing strategy. You can access the subsequent reports from a user-friendly interface or PDF.

Competitive Intelligence

SEMrush also delves into your rivals’ traffic details through its Traffic Analytics function. In addition to identifying traffic size by country, it compares different domains based on their individual paid search, social media, link building, and SEO strategies.

Consequently, you can take advantage of this provision to benchmark your site against your competitors- to analyze critical traffic metrics like bounce rate, pages per visit, average site duration, and more.

Rounding Up

SEMrush is a tool suite for advanced advertising the executives. It gives proficient full knowledge into traffic originating from various correspondence channels and to pick up knowledge into the effectiveness of their advertising approaches. As SEMrush gives significant commitment data, computerized advertisers are better furnished to position the brands they work with higher in the web crawler rankings and in the cognizance of their objective market by means of other media and strategies. In addition, SEMrush empowers promoting experts to pick up influence over their opposition by giving them a profitable understanding into what their shoppers and prospects are keen on. When they have distinguished those points, they can utilize them in making all the more captivating substance. Exhaustive catchphrase looks into apparatus and area examination. Backlink following. Work area/versatile pursuit breakdowns. Venture based SEO crusade structure is particularly valuable. Catchphrase proposals and proactive SEO suggestions work well for users.

Overall SEMrush is an advanced tool for sure, not for newbies with little knowledge. However, their support and tutorials are great. I’d like some more customization and styling options for the report tool since we use SEMrush as our main report generator. Now we end up pasting images or combining it with other separate reports. I’d also like a client-facing dashboard for easy reporting. The keyword research tool isn’t as good as the google one used to be, but now that Google is making their keyword research tool more and more ridiculous, SEMrush is looking pretty good.
